Weight band
Uses the U.S. range for your dog's weight and service. A state reference is shown separately when comparable state data exists.
Enter your dog's weight, state, quoted price and service type. Compare the quote with a weight-based U.S. range and, for private or communal cremation, a separate state reference range.
See what is included, what may cost extra and what to confirm before payment.
The price is compared with published reference ranges. Package items are reviewed separately and never used to invent a price adjustment.
A $300 quote may include pickup and an urn, or neither. Compare the whole package.
Private, partitioned and communal are different services. Keep the chamber arrangement and ashes-return terms separate when comparing prices.

The private, communal and ashes-returned aquamation weight ranges follow the Hallowed Paws 2026 study of 1,224 U.S. providers. Partitioned cremation uses a broader national service range because the cited source does not publish comparable weight tiers for that service.
State reference ranges use the PetCremation.org 2026 cost guide, which describes them as planning benchmarks built from published provider pricing, regional analysis and modeled estimates. Partitioned cremation and aquamation do not receive a state-derived range here. Provider schedules below remain single-provider examples, not state averages.
Private, partitioned and communal refer to different chamber arrangements and ashes-return rules. The definitions below use Pet Loss Professionals Alliance terminology. Other professional standards and providers may use different labels, so confirm the actual chamber arrangement.
One pet is placed in the chamber and that pet's cremated remains are returned. Confirm that meaning when a provider uses the word “private.”
More than one pet may be in the cremation unit at the same time, with physical separation between pets. PLPA calls this partitioned cremation. IAOPCC also permits “individual” for individually partitioned service when the consumer is told that more than one pet may be cremated at the same time.
Several pets are cremated together. Individual ashes are not returned.
Aquamation uses alkaline hydrolysis instead of flame. Providers offer ashes-returned and communal services.
Use this for two quotes for the same dog. Select the service on each quote, then compare price and included items.
Check these charges before comparing totals.
Check whether clinic or home pickup is included, mileage-based or charged differently after hours.
Providers may use weight tiers or add a per-pound surcharge above a threshold.
A basic container may be included. Decorative urns, engraving, paw prints and jewelry may cost extra.
Return delivery, rush handling, weekend service and witnessed cremation may cost extra.
Short answers about price, service wording and return of cremated remains.
Published examples on this page include Seattle Humane at $170–$270 private and $40–$160 communal, East Texas Pet Crematory at $125–$210 private and $50–$100 non-return, and PAWS Philadelphia at $77–$160 private and $24–$55 communal. Provider prices can change, so confirm the current written total before relying on an example.
Weight and service type move the price most. The checker compares your quote with a U.S. weight range and shows a separate state reference for private or communal cremation.
A 50 lb dog uses the 40–69.9 lb band. The broad U.S. private range shown here is $250–$450. The selected state's private reference is displayed separately because it is not a weight-specific quote.
Private cremation means one pet in the chamber and return of that pet's cremated remains. Confirm that definition with the provider.
More than one pet may be in the cremation unit at the same time, with physical separation between pets. PLPA uses “individual” with private one-pet-at-a-time cremation, while IAOPCC also accepts “individual” for individually partitioned service with disclosure. Ask exactly whether any other pets will be in the chamber.
No. Private cremation and many partitioned services return identified cremated remains. Communal cremation does not return an individual pet's cremated remains. Confirm the provider's exact process and return policy in writing.
Sometimes. Basic containers may be included; upgraded urns, engraving and keepsakes may be extra. The quote should name the included container.
Yes. Ask which crematory performs the service, where it occurs, how the dog is identified during transfer and who returns the ashes.
Ask for the total price, exact service type, chamber arrangement, included items, identification method and return timing.
